Seoul
Tower
The 236.7 meter tall Seoul Tower and its observation
deck which offers a spectacular panoramic view of
the city. Attractions on Mt. Namsan include Namsan
Botanical Garden, Namsan Public Library and the
Global Village Folk Museum. In addition, the Namsan
circular road and Namsan No. 1, 2 and 3 tunnels
serve as major corridors linking the southern part
of the Han River to the downtown area in the north,
providing easy access to Namdaemun and Itaewon and
relieving traffic congestion in downtown Seoul.
In the neighborhood, a traditional Korean village
of Namsangol Hanok (Korean Traditional House) Village
and Korea House offer excellent examples of traditional
Korean architecture. |

Itaewon
Known by nicknames such as "America in Seoul" or
"the Street of Foreigners", Itaewon is probably
the most international area in Seoul, bustling with
the greatest number of foreigners. Famous as a shoppers'
paradise, the area's main street is lined with stores,
boutiques, and sidewalk stalls selling a wide range
of clothing, leather goods and antiques. With all
the signboards of hotels, restaurants and cafes
written in foreign languages, the exotic atmosphere
in Itaewon makes visitors feel as if they are in
a foreign country. |
